RESOURCES
Should a consultant build a course?
Often the useful question is narrower: which part of your consulting is repeated for every client, and should that part still be delivered live?
Most established consultants repeat a meaningful amount of teaching. Foundations, frameworks and recurring explanations appear in almost every engagement, regardless of how personalised the final outcome is.
Separate the repeated layer from the judgement layer
A course is rarely a replacement for expert judgement. It is usually a better home for the education that precedes it, so live sessions can begin further along.
When it is not the right move
If information is not the bottleneck, or the programme is still changing week to week, building a course first can lock in the wrong structure.
